Donovan Russell completed Bachelor and Masters degrees at the State University of New York and a PhD at Cornell University. The first years of his career included teaching and administration at US and Canadian schools and universities, followed by planning and reorganization assignments for state and provincial educations systems. An overseas career of thirty three years followed taking him to many nations in Africa, Asia and the Middle East. He served as Chief of Party on large international projects, as Director of a worldwide program, and as Country Director for the Peace Corps in Africa and Asia. He also worked in intensive grass roots level development and served as research, planning and evaluation consultant to multinational institutions and agencies. Most recently he has been a Visiting Scholar at Cornell University, teaching and advising graduate students who are preparing for a career in International Development. His articles have appeared in many professional publications and he has written several studies and books. Donovan and his family make their home in the beautiful Finger Lakes Region of New York.
